Cupping, Cupping Massage & Hijama

Get fresh air and take walks, but don't overdo it.

Avoid contaminated areas such as swimming and sauna for 1 week.

Avoid exercise, stretching, and strengthening programs for 24 hours

Avoid wool directly on the skin for 1 week as the skin would be sensitive.

Rest if you feel lethargic or nauseous.

Massages

Drink plenty of water to aid in flushing out toxins.

Avoid/minimise smoking, caffeine, alcohol and heavy meals.

It is advised to have suitable rest periods after treatment.

Massage treatments work best when performed regularly.
Cupping, the Graston Technique, and Bamboo Massage usually leave marks that can take 7-10 days to clear; however, if these marks persist for longer than 10 days, it is advisable to repeat the session, as the belief is that your body is under many burdens.
Acupuncture

Avoid exercise, stretching, and strengthening programs for the day.

Avoid/minimise smoking, caffeine, alcohol and heavy meals for the day.

Avoid cold compression to manage pain, as cold increases the body's stagnation.

Applying heat alongside acupuncture speeds up the blood flow circulation and healing process.

Avoid eating processed and junk food for the day, and try a balanced diet high in protein.

Acupuncture - Possible pain, bleeding or bruising where the needles have punctured the skin. If you are feeling nauseous, dizzy or faint, get some rest and keep hydrated. Pneumothorax is rare; however, if you get chest pain or shortness of breath during or after acupuncture, the emergency services must be called without delay.
Possible Side Effects

Nauseated by the increased circulation of waste products from the lymphatic system.

Fainting can be caused by dilating the blood capillaries and altering blood pressure.

Maybe sore, bruised or tiny red dots over the area treated, called petechiae.

Skin reactions such as allergy to the massage medium used.

Cold therapy can be applied for ease if any soreness is felt after the procedure.

Sleep patterns, mood and emotional levels may change.

Changes in bowel movement and frequent urination may occur.

Coughing mucus or additional sweating may occur.
-
Any marks due to deep pressure or soreness after massage should be resolved in a few days.​​
